Key Dates + Deadlines:
- May 16th – DCBOE begins sending mail-in ballots to all registered voters
- May 27th – Mail Ballot Drop Boxes open
- May 31st – Deadline to update voter registration with party affiliation
- June 6th – Deadline to request Absentee Ballot
- June 10th - June 19th – Early Voting period
- June 21st – Primary Election Day
- June 28th – Deadline for DCBOE to receive voted Absentee Ballots
- November 8th – General Election

Ways to Cast Your Vote:
- Election Day:
- Tuesday, June 21
- Voters may cast their ballots at ANY VOTE CENTER regardless of their residential address
- Early Voting:
- June 10 to June 19th
- Note: centers are closed on June 20th in observance of the Juneteenth Holiday
- Mail-In Ballots
- May 27th to June 21st
- Mail ballot drop boxes will be distributed to 55 locations throughout the District and will be open to voters starting May 27th.
- Voters will be able to return their voted mail-in ballots via USPS, to any mail ballot drop box location, or in-person at any vote center during the Early Voting period or on Election Day.
- They must be submitted byl 8:00 p.m. on June 21.
- Absentee Ballots:
- DCBOE is mailing all registered DC voters a mail-in ballot, so you only need to request an Absentee Ballot if you will be away from your DC residence during the 2022 Primary Election.
